Welcome to my online resume!

I recently completed my Master's of Journalism program at the University of British Columbia's School of Journalism in Vancouver, Canada. You can check out my thesis here. (This was a multimedia project for the Vancouver Sun and it was made the front page of the September 16, 2011 issue!)

I also have a B.Sc.H, specializing in Life Sciences, and an M.Sc. in Physiology (both from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario). From those years at Queen's, I got a good taste of the world of science research.

I've have also completed rewarding stints with: Science News; EvidenceNetwork.ca a non-partisan web-based group focused on Canadian health issues; The Vancouver Sun; the WGBH-produced TV program, NOVA and CBC's Quirks & Quarks science radio show.

In December 2010, I went to Uganda with 2 colleagues from UBC's International Reporting class and our instructor, Peter Klein. We spent a few days speaking with doctors, nurses, spiritual healers and patients about palliative care. It was an amazing experience!
